Huge Camera, Big Processor: Tecno Phantom 6 is Coming

Tecno Mobile has been rumored to be working on its next flagship device, and we have some juicy details on the Phantom 6. Tecno Phantom 6 is expected to be released in less than two weeks and the pieces of information we’ve been able to pull together are pretty interesting. But wait, there are two Phantom devices coming. Tecno Phantom 6 is expected to be released alongside another Phantom 6 Plus that seems to pack a lot more pizzaz.

Tecno Phantom 6 is coming with a dual-camera setup

Like I mentioned in an article I wrote earlier this year, this is the year when OEMs will start taking dual-camera setup more seriously because it is the future of mobile photography. We’ve seen a bunch of them this year–LG G5, Huawei P9, Honor 8, Apple iPhone 7 Plus and a few others. We can authoritatively say that the next Phantom will sport two rear cameras: a 13MP autofocus camera and a 5MP fixed-focus camera and might be the slimmest dual camera device ever.

With this kind of setup, it’s easy to shoot images with bokeh. You can selectively focus on what matters while the rest of the image is out of focus. This is possible when one of the camera actually does the shooting and the other one captures depth information. We are yet to know how Tecno Mobile plans to implement this, but we are almost certain this is how it’s going to work.

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus comes with a 21MP rear camera

Instead of the dual-camera setup on the Phantom 6, Tecno Phantom 6 Plus will ship with a single 21MP rear camera. This is said to give up to 4x digital zoom with optical zoom quality. According to our source, the Super Pixel Fusion Imaging technology gives great images with little or no noise in low-light.

Expect the deca-core Helio X20 processor
As for the rest of the specifications, this device is expected to be powered by Helio X20, a deca-core processor with tri-cluster CPU architecture: a cluster with two high-performance cores clocked at 2.5GHz, the second cluster has 4x 2.0GHz cores and the third cluster has four high-efficiency cores clocked at 1.4GHz. This device is rumored to come with 4GB RAM.

Both devices are said to come with full metal casing with a unibody design. As more details emerge, we will let you know.
