NairaBet donates new bus to Shooting Stars


The Nigerian Professional League kicked off last weekend with matches across various centers in Nigeria but in Ibadan, it was celebration galore inside the Shooting Stars FC's office on Sunday when one of the leading betting companies in the country, NairaBet, presented a brand new 32-seater coaster bus to the Oluyole Warriors.

Presenting the bus was the chairman of the company, Otunba Akin Alabi, who revealed his love for the club prompted his decision, said government could not do it alone putting into consideration the present condition of Nigeria.


“I have been supporting Shooting from my boyhood days as I am from Oyo state,” he said.

“For a while now, while supporting the club in my own little ways, buying tickets to watch games, I have been praying for an opportunity to do more and I am happy that the time has finally come.

“This bus is just the beginning of what NairaBet intends to do for Shooting Stars, as there are plans to make it bigger.”

Alabi assured that more sponsorship packages would be unveiled before soon as he continues his support for the club.

Speaking on the kind gesture, the General Manager of the club, Rasheed Balogun, described the donation and support as thing of  joy and relief for him and the team.

While thanking NairaBet for the support, Balogun used the opportunity to call on other well-meaning citizens of Oyo State to support the club.

In her own acceptance speech, the Permanent Secretary Oyo State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Agboola Ololade, praised Otunba Alabi for his love for the club while also promising that the club will surely get a continental ticket at the end of the season.

Also present at the presentation was the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon Fatai Adeshina, the staff of the club and other well-wishers.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars on Sunday lost 1-0 to Lobi Stars in their opening game of the season, inside the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
